Betty comes from a middle class family in Shalour City. After having finished school, she decided to go for a job in which she could protect people as she had always been the one to defend the weak and someone who believes in justice. When she got to know about Beauforêt, she applied for a job as a guard and was eventually accepted. Together with Fluffy, her very first Pokémon and friend since her days in primary school, she now proudly works for the academy and is more than happy to be there.
